Monitoring Workflows
As soon as a Workflow has been started, the Workflow Monitor is available. It provides detailed information on the progress of the workflow and of the executions of its sub tasks. It allows you to modify some parameters in the workflow definition and most of the properties of the tasks.
You can monitor any executed workflow or a child object of an executed workflow that you are authorized to work with. Authorities and permissions are set in your user definition.
Whereas the Task list in the Process Monitoring perspective provides information on the overall status of Workflows, whether active or not, it is the Monitor where you find useful details on running workflows. The Workflow Monitor gives information on the current status and progress of the workflow and on each and every task included in it.
What You See on the Schedule Monitor
-
Structure
You can see the structure of the workflow with all the tasks that are involved.
-
Status
You can follow the overall status of the workflow as well as of the individual executions within it. See Status of Tasks - Visual Aids as well as Status Symbols of Tasks.
-
Details
You can see the details of the workflow and of any task within the workflow.
-
Reports
If the workflow has any related reports, you can open and view them.
What You Can Do
From the Workflow Monitor you can modify some of the workflow settings as well as the properties of the tasks that are still active. These changes affect that particular execution only. As soon as it is ended, the original settings apply again. If you want those changes to be permanent, you have to change the workflow definition. See Defining Workflows.
